Your First Visit
When you call to schedule an appointment with our office, one of our team members will work with you to help find an appointment time, get you all of the necessary paperwork, provide you with directions to our office and answer any questions you might have. Please do not hesitate to let our staff know if there is anything we can do to make your visit in our office as pleasant as possible.
In preparation for your first visit, we will contact your referring doctor to confirm exactly what concerns they have regarding your case and what they would like for us to evaluate. We will also collect any records or radiographs that your dentist might have so that we can better understand the history of your problem or concern. If you are not being referred by another doctor, we will work with you to collect whatever information or records that might be available to help us prepare for your visit.
Upon arrival, please have the following information with you:
- Any referral slips, records, or radiographs sent by your referring dentist
- Dental insurance information
- Photo ID (driver’s license)
At your first visit, Dr. Williamson will want to hear your “story”. He believes each individual that comes to our office has their own unique story — a story about their past experiences, desires, concerns, and expectations. This story, along with a thorough dental & medical history, and comprehensive dental & radiographic evaluation will be the key components to establishing a proper diagnosis and treatment plan for your individual case.
After having a chance to review all of the information collected, Dr. Williamson will review his findings with you and discuss your treatment options. If he feels like it is appropriate, he will consult with your general dentist or other dental specialists to make sure that your diagnosis and treatment plan are as comprehensive as possible.
It is important that you let us know about any fears or concerns you might have regarding your dental care. We understand that most people do not like coming to the dentist and we want to do all we can to address any concerns in a proactive manner. With Dr. Williamson’s extensive training and certifications, he is able to provide many sedation options not available at most dental offices.
Please expect your initial visit to last between an hour and an hour and a half.
