Tooth Uncovering Procedures
Occasionally, teeth do not erupt into the mouth as expected. When a tooth gets caught in the gum tissue and does not erupt properly, it will adversely affect the eruption of the adjacent teeth, leave a space that needs to be filled, and possibly damage the roots of the adjacent teeth.
The preferred treatment is to use the natural tooth to fill the space when possible. An uncovering procedure allows us to identify the position of the impacted tooth, remove the barriers that prevented a natural eruption, facilitate the eruption and correct the positioning of the tooth.
